Economic Horizons has prepared Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) for over a decade. We know most plan administrators as well as each of the plans nuances. This specialized knowledge serves to enhance the attorney in settlement negotiations. When possible, Economic Horizons secures pre-approval from the plan administrator to guarantee that the certified copy of the QDRO will not be rejected after submission. Our time frame to accomplish our task is typically 8 - 10 days. The plan pre-approval process can take up to 1 - 8 weeks.
After preparation by a Family Law attorney, the work product is then reviewed by two Quality Control Personnel to insure compliance with the plan and the decree. The plan approval process can take from 1-8 weeks. After two weeks, Economic Horizons automatically employs a follow up process on each QDRO to minimize the possibility of a more lengthy approval process. Our goal is to push each QDRO through in an efficient and timely manner. Our fee for these services is $450.00 per QDRO.
For an additional $50.00 ($500.00 per QDRO), for HARRIS COUNTY ONLY we will submit a fully executed QDRO to the Court, obtain a certified copy, and send to the Plan Administrator (certified mail).
